How did you find the transition from leaving the Armed Forces to joining NESC?
After 29 years of service, the prospect of starting a new role in the civilian world was both daunting and exciting. When the Nuclear Engineering Director approached me to discuss potential opportunities at NESC, I was intrigued. He arranged a meeting and it quickly became clear that NESC had given careful thought to how my skills and experience could add value within the Engineering department. Their vision for integrating my operational experience into the business was both motivating and reassuring. From day one, I was welcomed into a team composed of talented, driven professionals, a blend of graduates and former service personnel who collectively shape NESC’s success. What could have been a challenging transition into civilian life was made significantly easier through dedicated training, patient guidance, and consistent support from everyone across the organisation, from the managing directors to the newest graduates. As part of this rapidly growing and high performing team, I am excited to continue developing in my role as a Principal Engineer. I would strongly encourage anyone nearing the end of their service career to explore the competitive benefits and rewarding opportunities that NESC offers to both employees and their families.
