Dean Cole

Dean is a Principal Nuclear Engineer and is currently part of a team working on the production of a safety case to permission the building of a new dry-docking facility for Astute class submarines. In his current role he is the Engineering Schedule manager, ensuring that design and safety are fully integrated throughout the design process to create a safe and fit for purpose facility that will maintain the availability of future submarines.

Prior to joining NESC Dean spent 22 years in the Royal Navy, 17 of those in the Submarine Service gaining valuable knowledge and experience on submarine reactor, electrical, and propulsion systems. In his free time Dean enjoys learning and practicing karate with his son, however, seeing as he has now outgrown his father, sparring is far more of a challenge than it used to be.
