22nd June 2025
Plan for rain and you won’t be disappointed, well we started the day with a biblical – 2 hour long downpour that even the dog wasn’t keen on going out in! Nevertheless 4 brave souls (And Tor the damp dog) set out from Postbridge looping all the way to the west of Merrivale. We only saw 1 other person all day as if to reinforce the loneliness of that area of the moor.
Devil’s Tor provided some much needed shelter for a lunch break and at long last the rain stopped for the second half of the walk to Great Staple Tor where we RV’d with the transport to take us back to Princetown.
