  • What is your role at NESC?
    Andy has been with NESC for over 8 years and is currently employed as the Nuclear Safety Manager. His primary role is the welfare and development of the nuclear safety team and he's also heavily involved in the recruitment to increase resources and experience. Andy is enthusiastic about onboarding new talent to support the growth of the company to expand our future commitments.
  • What is your career history?
    He served as a nuclear submariner in the Royal Navy for 26 years, gaining valuable experience as both an operator and supervisor on PWR. As a Warrant Officer he managed the safe and efficient operation/maintenance of reactor plant, propulsion, electrical generation and submarine systems. Since leaving the RN, he expanded his experience in the nuclear industry further as a safety engineer completing safety assessments on activities in and around the submarines/facility. He also supports a role within the Electrical Power Distribution Network Design Authority In Devonport Dockyard maintaining the design intent of the electrical systems. Having lived in the Southwest for over 30 years, Andy embraces all the coast and countryside has to offer with sea swimming, paddle boarding mountain biking and road cycling across Dartmoor National Park.
