The NESC walking group took to Dartmoor for a couple of walks in June and July, each meet up was started with the obligatory fry-up at a local café and finished off with a well-earned pint. Firstly, from Postbridge out to Broad down and back via Higher White Tor and Powdermills. A really warm summers day with no wind led to the excessive use of mozzy spray but alas a few bites were incurred.
Secondly, from Whiteworks with a circumnavigation of Fox Tor Mire – Where Arthur Conan Doyle based the Hound of the Baskervilles, Grimpen Mire. Happily the weather was in our favour with a fresh wind keeping us cool.
